Blackberry Priv has a strong design with curved edges and a physical keyboard that can be opened by the slider. The phone’s dimensions when the slider is closed are: 9.4x77x147mm, and when the slider is opened, the dimensions are: 9.4x77.2x184mm, making the sliders length 37mm, and the phone weighs 192 grams.

The team at Research in Motion also worked on the screen; they used a 5.4 inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It is also covered in a layer of the scratch and break resistant Gorilla glass, and just like other smartphones, it supports 16 million colors.

Moving onto the system specifications, the technical team at Research in Motion improved its specifications by equipping it with six-core Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 processors, which is divided into two processors: the dual-core Cortex-A57 1.8GH, and the quad-core Cortex-A53 1.44 GH.

BlackBerry Priv has a 32GB internal storage, a 3GB RAM, and the ability to add an additional memory card (up to 200 GB).

And for unforgettable moments, Research in Motion experts installed an 18MP rear camera and a 2MP front one.

It has a non-removable 3410 mAh battery, which lasts for 420 hours on Standby mode, and up to 24 hours of mixed usage. It is also a fast charging battery reaching 60% in 30 minutes.

Many analysts believe that the release of BlackBerry Priv by Research in Motion is but a last attempt to stay in the smartphones market (the companies continuation depends on their new phone’s success in the market). On the other hand, others believe that the company will remain in their business, but targeting other devices and will stay for this year.

Nonetheless, Research in Motion proved by releasing BlackBerry Priv that they can continue in the smartphone business and that led the Executive Director of the company to declare that last December’s sales were better than they expected. Knowing that the company’s revenue increased during the last quarter of 2015 (28th November 2015) by 12%.

This improvement was linked to the release of BlackBerry Priv by the economic analysts although the company’s success revenue was declared after one month after the release. Researches in Motion also believe that they will attract many clients since the phone is powered on two operating systems.
